Taking bookings on LINE without the chaos: keep LINE, stop using it as a calendar

Nobody should stop using LINE. Customers are there, and messaging first is normal. The problem is not LINE. It is using a chat thread as the booking book, which it was never built to be.

The three things that always go wrong when chat is the calendar

First, messages scroll away. A booking made on Tuesday for Saturday sits under forty newer messages. Whoever opens the shop on Saturday has to go looking for it.

Second, two people answer at once. One takes two o’clock on the phone, the other takes two o’clock on LINE. Both were right at the moment they replied.

Third, the confirmation is “okay”. Nobody sends a reminder, there is no link to reschedule, and a customer whose plans changed simply does not turn up.

What changes: your reply, not the channel

A customer writes: “Are you free tomorrow?” The old reply asks what time, opens the book, answers, waits. The new reply is your booking link and one sentence: “Pick whatever time suits you — everything shown is genuinely free.”

They see real availability, choose, and get an instant confirmation. You never send the second message, and that booking sits in the same calendar as the ones taken by phone.

Set LINE Official to answer for you

With a LINE Official Account, put the booking link in two places: the rich menu (the big buttons under the chat) and the automatic welcome message. Many customers will book before you have even seen their message.

If the shop uses a personal LINE, keep the link in a pinned message or a note so it takes two seconds to send.

  • Rich menu: a “Book” button that opens your booking page.
  • Welcome message: “Book any time at this link, 24 hours a day.”
  • Standard reply: the link plus one sentence, every time someone asks about times.

What still belongs in LINE

Asking about aches, answering price questions, giving directions, thanking someone after a visit, sending a promotion. LINE is best at all of that. Only the booking itself should leave the chat and live in the calendar.

The result is shorter chats, because nobody negotiates times, and a shop with no double bookings, because there is exactly one place a booking is written down.

Common questions

Can older customers book through a link?
Most can, if the page has few steps and no account. For anyone who would rather not, you take the booking and enter it in the same calendar, as you do today.
Do I need to switch to LINE Official?
No. The link can be sent from any kind of LINE. An Official Account only adds the automatic replies.

Try it on your own shop

Toosabai gives your shop its own booking page in a few minutes. The first 100 bookings each month are free, and there is no card to enter.
